Ingredients
- Chicken 1 Kg
- Onion 4-6 Onion
- Coconut – grated 96 Gm
- Dry coconut 40 Gm
- Ginger 1 Inch
- Garlic 6-8 Cloves
- Poppy seeds 1 Tbsp
- Coriander seeds 4 Tbsp
- Peppercorns 1 Tbsp
- cloves 3-6 No’s
- Saunf 2 tsp
- Cinnamon 1 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Malwani masala 1 Tbsp
- Oil 200 ml
- Green coriander 1 Bunch
Preparation:-
- Clean and cut chicken in small pieces. Wash and apply salt, turmeric & malvani masala. Slice onions, grate coconut & dry coconut. Clean & chop ginger & garlic. Chop coriander
- Heat about 1 ltr of oil. Fry onions to a light brown colour. Remove & keep aside. Fry coconut in the same oil to a light brown color.
- Keep aside. Fry dry coconut in the same oil. Cool it down and grind to a smooth paste. (1)
- Heat about of oil, sauté ginger, garlic. Add spices [ from poppy seeds --- cinnamon ] grind to a smooth paste. (2)
- Heat remaining oil. Add paste (1) and fry well. Then add chicken sear well. add paste (2), sauté. Add water & cook until chicken is tender & gravy is thick.
- Serve hot garnished with green coriander along with malwani vadas
