Malyalee Fish Curry Recipe

Ingredients

  • White pomfret 500 Gm
  • Salt to taste
  • Turmeric 1 tsp
  • Ginger 1 inch
  • Garlic 4-6 cloves
  • Madras onions 2-3 No
  • Coconut oil 50 ml
  • Kokum 1 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds 1 tbsp
  • Curry leaves 4-8 No
  • Red chili powder 1 tbsp
  • Coriander powder 2 tbsp

Preparation:-

  • Clean and cut fish on-the-bone appx. 1 inch thick pieces. Wash and marinade in salt, turmeric.
  • Soak kokum in water. Slice madras onions. Cut ginger & garlic into juliennes.
  • Heat coconut oil , add mustard seeds & curry leaves.
  • Add madras onions, ginger & garlic. Sauté.
  • Add red chili powder and coriander powder. Fry well.
  • Add 50ml water and boil. Add kokum pulp and adjust salt.
  • Add fish; simmer for 5-10 minutes. Serve hot.
